"My experience in learning Engilsh"

 Experience in Taipei

Good morning , ladies and gentlemen . My name is Stanley Wang , and I am glad that I have the chance to share my experience in learning English . But before that , I would like to share my experience in Taipei . I am from the countryside of Pingtung , so it is definitely an amazing tour for me to come to this international city . Especially my first time to come to here . I was nervous but excited because I could see foreigners everywhere : they are on the streets , in the nightmarkets , in the supermarkets and even next to me when I took the MRT . I once tried to have a talk with them just to try how far I could go . To my surprise , it was much more difficult then my imagination , which made me come up with my experience in learning English .

Challenges

In my life , there are so many people I have to appreciate . Because of them , I am able to stand here delivering my speech in front of so many people with confidence . When I was in junior high , I met a superb cool English teacher . The reason why I said that he was superb cool is that I could not tell what he taught indeed is English or Japanese . So from then on I decided to be better then him . But I was confronted with difficulties after I was a senior high . I remembered that it was in a lovely morning when I took my first listening test of my life . I was so anxious that I thought if the speaker would be broken everything would be wonderful because I could spare that horrible test . I must tell you that the good news is that the speaker was broken , while the bad news is that it was actually not the speaker’s problem but mine .

Practice makes Perfect

    I was really frustrated at that time , but my English teacher told me that “Stanley , listen , English is not only a tool to get high scores in tests , but also a tool to communicate with this wonderful world . So just take it easy , try your best and you can make a difference . ”Since then , I saw more English movies , read more English magazines , listened to more English radios and even talked with my English teacher in English . By doing so for a long time , I thought , I felt , and I know that I have made a great progress in English . I got good grades in every test , including GEPT and TOEFL . And I am no longer afraid of the terrible speaker because I could understand what it is saying ! 

Start at the end

  You may think that in the future there will be less chances to learn English , but I have to tell you that no matter how good or how bad your English is , you should not stop learning , remember , grip every chance to learn English and never give up .
